Joey - 2008 15.2, Hanoverian/Thoroughbred Gelding - Classy Bay
Joey started his jumping career at age 8 and has been a showstopper the entire journey. Joey has taught me (someone who could not have been more of a novice rider at the time) how to be a jumper as he himself was learning and I could not have asked for a better teacher. One of our first outings was schooling the stadium and hunter courses at the Boise Saddle and Jump Club in 2016 and he carried me through anything I asked of him. He has shown 3-day eventing at novice level in Enterprise, Oregon and at the Chicken Event in Ogden, Utah also in 2016. The placings just roll in with this guy at any show, including a 2 time high jumper championship at the North Wind Winter Jumper Series. Joey is currently showing at a 1.30 meter (4’3’’) level in show jumping and novice level in cross country. He is schooling at home 1.40 meters (4’6’’) in show jumping and Preliminary- Intermediate level in cross country. In 2017, we spent a week schooling cross country courses all over California. Joey was braver than brave at any jump thrown at him, from a skinny triangle to an advanced tabletop!
As far as demeanor goes you couldn’t ask for a sweeter and more loving horse, especially with kids and novice riders, both in the saddle and on the ground. Joey is not spooky about new places or jumps, he even rode with a state champion drill team in 2016! Joey understands the concept of flying lead changes both on the flat and in the jumping ring. Jumpin’ Joey is a true go getter with the heart of a soldier. Selling price is $30,000; for more information call/text or email me at: (208)505-7717, email@example.com
Past History: We found Joey on Christmas Eve 2015. He went from sitting in a paddock to being the next eventer/jumper project! Joey is now going to realize his true potential, and live up to all of his fancy sporthorse breeding!
Sire (pictured below): Wolkenzauber is a 1998 black 16.3hh overo Hanoverian. "A successful eventer, he has consistently dominated the dressage phase and then shown his bravery and scope when tackling the jumping questions on course - always finishing in the ribbons and garnering more than a fair share of the attention of the spectators with his engaging demeanor." ~from breeder's website

Update March 2016: Joey is in full training with Gable Stables. They are going to be using him as their back-up drill horse (western) and for eventing. He will also be traveling to the Idaho Horse Council Horse Expo on April 15-17 at the Idaho Center in Nampa, Idaho.
Update March 29, 2016: Joey is in full training and out at the spirng shows. He is very comfortable on 2'6" courses and moving up. He is being ridden by Heather Gable at Gable Stables as well as a variety of teen riders all the way down to an 8 year old girl. He is scheduled to be shown on April 3 at Wasatch SportHorses by his tiny rider! I can't wait to get that video uploaded. I also ride him and will be showing him when he is available. Right now he is a favorite around the barn for the girls because they love to jump and Joey is always a willing partner. He also loves the trails and would make a fantastic trail mount. I have uploaded a collage video of some of his work from March 2016. I can't believe how this young guy has progressed.
Update April 21, 2016: Joey just completed his stay at the Idaho Horse Expo in Nampa. He was a star! He had no trouble with the stall life and HUGE amount of commotion. He rode in the main arena like he was in his own back yard. He carried a flag, pulled a bag of cans, jumped, all will 5 other horses going around him. I will be posting a video soon!
Check back for weekly updates.
Joey will is going to the several events during May and June. He will be in Bellevue, Idaho on May 14-15, Boise Pony Club Show May 21, American Chicken Event in Ogden, Utah on May 26-29, and then at the Event Derby and Clinic at Rocky Hollow Farm in Kuna, Idaho on June 5-6. Joey is being ridden by a talented teen!
Joey has become a super star over the past 3 years!
